HELP! I bleached my hair and it went ORANGE! How to fix it...

Nat's at-home Restyle - Stage 2.

So erm, Stage 2 - OMBRE has taken a slightly unexpected turn.  To Fanta land.

Now before anyone has a go at me - I have nothing against ginger hair.  Gillian Anderson in her red head Scully days is my hair icon.  I take issue with orange.  As in orange.  As in ORANGE.

So why am I orange?  Well according to the tinterweb I did not leave the bleach on for long enough.  Which is probably true, I stuck to the specified time limit, even though I have hair that is pretty much indestructible.

So what are my options?

1.  Stick a toner through it.  Yeah, nah.  I don't want orange.  Toned or otherwise.

2.  Bleach it again.  Maybe.

3.  Use the lighter ends and go bright.  I could, I'm no stranger to bright hair.  But I kind of wanted the blonde.

4.  Use an all over colour and go darker.  Hmm, but then I'll be doing all of this again the next time I decide I want to go lighter.

I couldn't decide what to do, so I threw on my rainbow Smurf hat, strapped Bean on, grabbed Milky's hand and went to the nearest shop.  The Big Red Shed.  Clearly I'm high on peroxide because I couldn't decide what to do, so I grabbed these, for when I decide:

This isn't a sponsored post by the way - Schwarzkopf was on special.  The Live colours were only $5.  It really is the place where everyone gets a bargain.

So...what shall I do?  Bleach again?  Jazz up the orange?  Go an all over colour?

Here's the progress so far:

We'll we reckon Nat should just keep it as is, as the amazing nude palette in the "Incredible Eyes" box will go great with orange (as well as every other colour hair).

Nat!! If you can handle orange hair for a week, I’d say do a deep condition then bleach again. If you go back to dark, you’ll always want to go light again!

Toning really may help, get the fudge purple toner, leave it in for 15 mins and at the very least it will get rid of all the brassy-ness. Let’s face it, you’ll need a purple shampoo anyway if you go blonde, you may as well give it a go and see if this dye job can be saved!

Take it from someone who just spent 5 hours in a salon going blonde – be really sure you’re going to love the blonde because if you put your scalp and hair through that much pain (literally PAIN!) you’re not going to want to change it in a hurry! Personally Nat I would love the burgundy ombré on you!

Depending on how damaged (or not) your hair is, I would do an intense treatment, some kind of oil would be nice, then bleach it again. Try and get it as light as possible without destroying your hair, then tone it. Leave the toner in for as long as you want and hopefully that should lift the brassy tones! If not, you could do another intensive treatment, wait a few days and then bleach and tone again.
